It's Raining Frogs!
July 1, 2011
The Old Ranger was opening camp for the July Fourth Family Camp.  It had been a long, wet June with lingering piles of snow and lakes of muddy snow melt all over camp.  But now campers were coming, and so it seemed, were more frogs.

As the Old Ranger opened the padlock on the office, guess what jumped onto her hand?  A green tree frog.  Then down in the shower house, she lifted up a shower curtain.  What do you think jumped onto her head?  A green tree frog.

To make things look neater, the Old Ranger moverd some storm shutters from the front of the kitchen to the back.  What did she see hopping on the shutter frames?  Two brown tree frogs.

These small frogs are called tree frogs or Pacific chorus frogs.  They come in two colors, green and brown.  Sometimes a frog can change its color from green to brown or brown to green,  There seems to be a large supply of tree frogs at Camp El-O-Win this summer.

The Old Ranger continued on to Arapaho wondering if she would meet more frogs.  A red-legged frog might be fun.
